week 25
Greetings Red Shirt students, families, and staff. Monday February 14 signals the start of Week 24 of the 2021 through 22 school year. First of all, we are all thankful for the citizens of Red Shirt who assisted in putting out the fire. Unfortunately, it looks like we lost the sweat lodge, but everyone did a great job keeping the fire away from the school. Next, tomorrow will be the funeral for Robert Two Bulls. He was the Reverend/Pastor of the Red Shirt Table Episcopal Church and an elder of the community and tribe. While we will be having school, many students, family, and staff will be taking the day to honor the passing of our friend and Shepard. If the bus does not come in the morning, do not worry, all students will be counted as exempt if they cannot attend school. Finally, tomorrow is also Valentine's Day. Students looking forward to the fun their teachers have planned for them do not need to worry either. All Valentine's Day parties/activities will take place on Tuesday, February 15. If your student is brining items for the festivities, they can do that on Tuesday. Remember, all Covid protocols are still in place. Stay warm. Stay safe, and as Smokey the Bear says, "Only you can prevent grass fires." Have a great night.

Staying in one’s seat, keeping hands to one’s-self, not throwing items while the bus is in motion, and/or not leaving discarded masks on the bus are all facets of safety for all students and staff on the bus. Driver’s will not be able to tolerate behavior that threatens the safety of riders. The school year is moving by too quickly. We love to see all students in school and learning. Even with the Covid closings, this school year has the potential to be one of the best academic years our students have ever had. That is because Red Shirt School has the best staff, the best families, and—definitely—the best students in the world. Have a great night!
