Good evening, Oglala Lakota County School District, this is Connie Kaltenbach, Superintendent.
Due to the uncertainty of the weather predictions for late tonight and early morning and the already scheduled early dismissal tomorrow for parent/teacher conferences, it makes no sense to have a late start and early out for students, so there will be no school for students tomorrow. Staff will have a 2 hour late start for tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, 2026. Work will begin two hours past the regular start time. We will keep a watch on the weather and road conditions in the morning and make any adjustments at that time. If the roads and weather do not improve, the parent/teacher conferences will also be rescheduled. A reminder, there is no school on Friday for students as that is a planned inservice day. School will resume for students on Monday, February, 23, 2026.
No school tomorrow for Batesland, Red Shirt, Rockyford, Wolf Creek, Lakota Tech, and the Virtual High School. 2 hour late start for staff.
